I recently went on a road trip to eastern Va. While there I was talking to a friend of mine about carrying my duty weapon while off-duty. He asked me if I carried it off-duty because I was scared. I said, no, I’m not scared at all, but you never know when you’ll be in a gas station that’s getting robbed or when you’ll drive down the road and see a fellow officer in trouble on a traffic stop.
I never want to be caught off guard and in a day and time where people will shoot and kill police officers in cold blood, I want to be prepared.
If you’re a police officer then you should carry off-duty.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the two New York City PD Officers who were shot the other day.
